SSCBA: Transforming Security with Smart, Cancelable Biometric Authentication framework

Himani Khullar, Deepti Malhotra · 2025

Biometric Security Systems authenticate individuals using unique physical and behavioral traits but face challenges when biometric data or templates are compromised, as users cannot change their traits like passwords or PINs. This raises concerns about long-term system stability and the security of biometric templates, which are used for comparison during authentication. Centralized storage of these templates makes them attractive targets for hackers, leaving users vulnerable in case of breaches. Advanced methods to safeguard biometric templates are crucial for scalable, secure systems. This research systematically reviews articles from 2015 to 2024, providing a comparative analysis of cancelable biometric approaches based on accuracy rates. It also introduces an intelligent, secure cancelable biometric authentication framework, highlighting its potential for efficient and reliable application in addressing these challenges
