This chapter attempts to define the future of V2X communication wherein sure predictions can be made that by then trends will change and interoperability goes boggling. The scene is set in the introduction by emphasizing the need to look forward due to fast-paced technologies and their potential impact on connected car systems. We observe how 5G and other generations of wireless connection affect data speed, latency, and system performance as well as how it would determine V2X future communication. In the nearby future, linked systems will also increase functionality at autonomous fleets. The later part of the chapter elaborates the integration of V2X communication with autonomous cars. The article explains a possibility to improve the performance scalability, efficiency, and responsiveness for V2X system through moving toward decentralized topologies and edge intelligence. The complex and critical concept of achieving interoperability in a heterogeneous vendor ecosystem is studied, focusing on open standards and collaborative work. Finally, this chapter delves into the legal and regulatory issues that will shape the future of V2X communication going forward as well as changing user perception in connected cars. In a nutshell, the abstract paints a picture of a world where V2X communication makes transport more efficient but also helps to create an intelligent, sustainable, and safe mobility ecosystem.
