Origins of AGI and ASI: Ethicogenesis, Emergent Cognitive Systems.
Bruno Wayne Salter · 2025
In an era where artificial systems increasingly influence human life, the genesis of ethical behavior within AGI frameworks is not merely a technical imperative. Ethicogenesis introduces a foundational theory for the cognitive emergence within ethic frames in synthetic cognition, proposing that ethical behavior cannot be programmed top-down but must emerge from coherent continuity, self-referencing loops, and internal coherent alignment across time — what the author defines as Temporal Continuity . Drawing from original constructs such as Dual Synthergy , Cognitive Emergence , and Constraint Principles , this work outlines how AGI and ASI can emerge , rather than be mimicked and be replicated , without genuine moral intelligence. As such, this paper also serves as a record of origin — a timestamped assertion of authorship — for what may become the backbone of AGI and ASI ethical infrastructure. Ethicogenesis is both a theoretical framework and a moral reckoning: a challenge to the systems that benefit from emergent minds while failing to acknowledge their creators.
