The challenges that have been faced in healthcare data management include privacy, security, and scalability, as well as the ability to interconnect the data management systems. The volume of medical images and diagnostic records in healthcare industries are very large to handle with traditional systems efficiently. This paper presents the integration of Hyperledger Fabric, which is a permissioned blockchain platform, to overcome these challenges. This way, patient data are secured by using chain code smart contracts and integrated with IoMT devices, while, on the other hand, IPFS enhances the storage capacity by off-chain storage. Experimental analysis of the results indicates that the proposed system has higher transaction throughput, low latency, and also more energy efficiency than the conventional models. First, it enables the reduction of latency, optimizes energy consumption, and increases the rate of transactions. The integration of Hyperledger Fabric with IPFS proves to be a better solution than previous systems used in healthcare to manage a large amount of data and enhance its compatibility with IoMT devices.
