In recent years, biomedical research is evolving rapidly by integrating large amounts of data from clinical investigations, laboratory experiments, internet of things and healthcare records. Statistical methods are crucial in biomedical research for drawing valid conclusions and ensuring the reliability of findings. The aim of this survey is to provide a comprehensive overview of the key statistical techniques in biomedical research. The survey mainly focuses on providing techniques to extract meaningful insights from complex data and ultimately providing evidence-based decision-making and advancing the knowledge in medical areas. The motivation of this study is to enable researchers to make informed decisions about effectiveness of treatment, disease mechanisms, and interventions of public health. Biomedical research problems consist of analyzing different kinds of data, handling large and heterogeneous data and providing recommendations are actionable insights for the researchers.
