In response to a request from the Ministère de la Santé et des Services Sociaux (MSSS) to create new multi-service centers where patients can access a variety of services such as blood draws, screenings, medical examinations, and vaccinations, the CIUSSS West-Central Montreal aims to develop a hybrid simulation-optimization decision support tool to evaluate the performance of the multi-service center. The decision support tool is designed to provide optimal layouts for the spaces that will house the multi-service center. It will also define the optimal capacity of this multi-service center. This decision support tool will ensure a fluid patient pathway that promotes high quality care, considering the needs of both patients and healthcare professionals. Using a hybrid simulation-optimization model we aim to show that consolidating these services in one location will increase accessibility to health care services while promoting efficiency and reducing duplication of resources and burden for patients.
