Agent- Based Modeling and Design: Methodologies and Applications

Siti Zulaiha Ahmad · International Journal of All Research Education & Scientific Methods · 2025

Agent-oriented techniques showcase a potential breakthrough in software development by offering a cohesive approach throughout the analysis, design, and implementation phases. Despite the prevailing dominance of object-oriented methods, deficiencies in providing adequate models for multi-agent systems are evident. Consequently, a novel methodology is suggested, leveraging object-oriented principles but specifically customized for agents. This innovative approach tackles the distinctive challenges posed by multi-agent applications. The development process identifies three primary models crucial for the process: (1) an agent model, (2) a communication model, and (3) an environment model, all of which are fundamental for the design and analysis of multi-agent systems. By incorporating agent-focused considerations into the development framework, this methodology aims to enrich the efficiency and effectiveness of constructing multi-agent applications.
