Zero Trust Security Architecture

R Sreelatha, Abhay Yelsangiker · 2024

The implementation and benefits of Zero Trust (ZT) architectures across various domains. The shift from traditional perimeter-based security models to ZT models, which advocate for continuous verification and stringent access controls. Diverse applications, including enterprise networks, Defense Department networks, healthcare, semiconductor supply chains, containerized environments, and more. Key elements of ZT, such as identity verification, risk-based access controls, and encryption, are looking to move towards zero trust architecture. Additionally, frameworks for migration, and innovative solutions such as quantum fingerprinting, secure protocols for chip-to-chip communications, and hybrid safety and security risk assessments. The practical implementation of ZT is discussed, considering factors like the COVID-19-induced rise in remote work and the unique requirements of specific sectors like healthcare and industrial IoT.
