In order to reduce the power consumption of Internet of Things (IoT) devices and downlink transmission latency, low-power wake-up signal (LP-WUS) is introduced in 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Release 19 to work as an indication signal to wake up the main receiver (MR). A dedicated low-power wake-up receiver (LP-WUR) is employed for LP-WUS detection to ensure timely wakening of the MR, which requires high sensitivity. In this paper, the waveform generation of On-Off Keying (OOK)-1 and OOK-4, and the detection mechanisms of OOK-based receiver and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM)-based receiver are introduced. Then the performance of OOK-based receiver and OFDM-based receiver are thoroughly evaluated and compared in non-interference condition as well as in presence of adjacent subcarrier interference (ASCI) and adjacent channel interference (ACI). The simulation results reveal superior receiving performance of the OFDM-based receiver over the OOK-based receiver in both reference sensitivity (REFSENS) environment and interference environment.
