Rupinder Singh, Manjinder Singh, Jaswinder Singh · 2025
The paper explores the use of AI tools and technologies in disaster risk reduction and emergency management, highlighting their potential to enhance community resilience to both man-made and natural disasters. The study examines how artificial intelligence (AI) tools and technologies are used in emergency preparedness and disaster risk reduction, emphasizing how they might increase community resilience to both natural and man-made disasters. The principles and challenges of disaster preparedness and response are the starting point of our discussion. This will be followed by AI amplification of the efforts. The different kinds of artificial intelligence helpers such as predictive analytics, prevention early warning systems, remote sensing, natural language processing, geographic information systems, simulation models, and remote assistance make the decision-making process easier by forecasting, preventing disaster, and making accurate, fit-for-purpose reaction and response plans at the time of disasters. Moreover, AI apps are fraught with ethical conflicts and data security as well as tragic algorithmic bias which are stumbling blocks for the evolution of the app. This study not only unveils the relevant trends and technologies but also offers advice to policymakers, practitioners, and researchers about AI tools as an effective solution for disaster risk reduction.
