In an era where digital imagery plays a pivotal role in communication and data exchange, the need for robust image encryption methods has never been more critical. The increasing transfer of sensitive images over unsecured networks raises significant concerns regarding data confidentiality and integrity. This paper introduces an innovative approach that integrates the Emperor Penguin Optimization (EPO) algorithm with traditional and chaotic image encryption methods to enhance data security. Specifically, we employ the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) alongside three chaotic systems: Henon, Lorenz, and Logistic maps. The primary objective is to maximize the Universal Image Quality Index (UACI) and to minimize Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) as metrics for assessing encryption performance. The proposed model contributes to the field of image encryption by offering a hybrid approach that leverages the strengths of traditional and chaotic algorithms, thereby enhancing data confidentiality in various applications.
