Cyberattacks have become more prevalent in recent years. The methods of attacks have been evolving as technology advances. This creates an opportunity for the local law enforcers of the Philippines to take extracurricular training in the topic of cybersecurity. This study focuses on creating a web-based computer-assisted instruction course on the topic of cybersecurity as supplemental training for law enforcers. The platform utilized and customized was Moodle enabling strict registration and enrollment of the course participants. A subject matter expert on cybersecurity was consulted on the outline and topics to be included. The course content is delivered in a variety of formats. The contents of the e-learning system are based on the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and guidelines and training materials on cybersecurity from the SANS Institute developed exclusively for the Philippine National Police academic training. The lessons were created with animated videos for interactive engagement with the user. This online course is mindfully designed, and cost-effective as it can be used anytime, anywhere by busy users. This study aimed and achieved to develop a computer-assisted instruction course that will cater to the learning needs of law enforcers and evaluate the usability of the course in enhancing cybersecurity awareness and response capabilities of potential users.
