Analysis and distributed feedback controller synthesis of large-scale networked systems to verify/enforce properties like stability and dissipativity has gained a renewed attention due to emerging applications in critical cyber-physical systems such as infrastructure networks, vehicular networks, and so on. This chapter presents a decentralized and compositional approach for such analysis and controller synthesis tasks in networked systems comprised of arbitrarily interconnected linear subsystems. The compositionality of this approach enables it to conveniently and efficiently handle situations where subsystems are being added to (or removed from) an existing network. Moreover, optimizing the subsystem indexes (order) used in this decentralized approach can substantially reduce the required inter-subsystem communications. In fact, for some network topologies, information sharing among only neighboring subsystems is sufficient (i.e., distributed). We conclude this chapter by discussing a few numerical results demonstrating the proposed decentralized and compositional approach for analysis and controller synthesis of networked systems.
