Securing IoT Devices Using Permissioned Blockchain Networks: A Cybersecurity Framework Against External Threats
R. M. · International Journal of Artificial Intelligence Data Science and Machine Learning · 2024
The proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices has revolutionized various sectors, from smart homes to industrial automation. However, the increased connectivity has also exposed these devices to a myriad of cybersecurity threats. Traditional security measures are often inadequate in protecting the vast and heterogeneous IoT ecosystems. This paper proposes a cybersecurity framework that leverages permissioned blockchain networks to enhance the security of IoT devices. The framework addresses key challenges such as data integrity, authentication, and access control. We present a detailed architecture, supported by algorithms and case studies, to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed solution. The paper also includes a comprehensive evaluation of the framework's performance and security features, highlighting its potential to mitigate external threats in IoT environments
