Escape of the Smallest Mass of a Triple System

George Bozis · Publications of the Astronomical Society of Japan · 1981

Abstract The conditions for the smallest mass of a triple system to escape to infinity are considered in view of a criterion given by Yoshida (1974). Given the configuration of a system with energy h and angular momentum c, it is shown that, depending on the value of hc2, one can find for m3 the smallest radial velocity leading to escape.
