Proficient Detection of Leukemia Blood Test Enabled by Deep Learning
Pranav Singh · 2025
Leukemia is a kind of blood cancer, which is marked by uncontrolled growth and multiplication of leukocytes. It impairs the production of platelets and erythrocytes. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia is prevalent among children and adults, presenting a critical need for early and accurate diagnosis to enhance patient survival rate. Conventional diagnostic methods, which rely significantly on invasive bone marrow biopsies, are costly and carry significant patient risk. The emerging applications of artificial intelligence in medical diagnostics offer promising advancements in the automatic detection and classification of leukemia. In this paper, we present a deep learning model trained and tested on peripheral blood smear images. It yields significantly enhanced prediction accuracy approaching 98.16%. The proposed model may provide a potential diagnostic process contributing to better patient care outcomes.
