In response to security issues associated with palm vein images during the recognition process, as well as the small key space and security concerns of chaotic systems, this paper proposes an image encryption algorithm based on multiple chaotic systems combined with DNA encoding. The chaotic sequences generated by the Chen chaotic system are used for block scrambling and spiral scrambling of the image. The chaotic sequences generated by the logistic map are employed to achieve bit scrambling of the image. To further enhance the security of the encryption, the image matrix, after completing the scrambling operation, is encoded using DNA encoding based on the chaotic sequences generated by the Chen chaotic system. This is followed by a diffusion operation to obtain DNA sequences. Finally, the chaotic sequences are used to decode the DNA sequences, resulting in the encrypted image. Simulation experiments and security analyses demonstrate that this encryption algorithm can withstand attacks such as cropping and differential attacks, and it exhibits good encryption performance.
