Shravya Shetty, Spoorthi Poojary, Shravya Kulal, Sushmitha Sapaliga, Shravan Acharya · 2025

With the accelerated development of artificial intelligence (AI), libraries are experiencing a shift in how they organize resources and interact with users. AI-enabled robots are no longer confined to repetitive mechanical functions; they now execute cognitive operations like cataloging, inventory tracking, and tailored user support. These technologies streamline book retrieval, automate shelving, and allow natural language interaction, enhancing accessibility and efficiency. This paper examines the incorporation of AI-powered robots into libraries, their ability to access information, and their effect on user interaction. It also discusses ethical issues, such as privacy and manpower implications, in assessing the balance between automation and human touch in knowledge environments.
