Communication networks that facilitate data collection and movement throughout the system always maintain data centers; these networks manage massive data volumes. Many approaches have been taken to this topic, and models of data center architecture have been developed. Software Defined Networks (SDN) is being widely used as latest network architecture for achieving multiple advantages. Due to these advantages, in data centers also, SDN is being used. In this work, the performance of different data centers topologies namely, Bigtopo, Grid, Bcube, and Fat-Tree topologies has been evaluated in SDN architecture with the objective of finding the best performing data center topology in SDN enabled data centers. The performance of these topologies has been evaluated under three metrics namely, latency, jitter, and throughput. It is found that Bigtopo outperforms Grid, Bcube, and Fat-Tree topologies under throughput and latency (TCP packets). Fat-tree topology outperforms other topologies under jitter (UDP packets).
