Abstract This article investigates observer‐based prescribed‐time control for leader‐follower consensus issues in linear multiagent systems. Observers for each agent are designed based on an augmented system that enable simultaneous observation of both the system's state and disturbances. The prescribed‐time stabilization problem is addressed using observers that employ periodic delay feedback. Furthermore, a prescribed‐time control protocol based on observers is introduced within a predetermined time frame, independent of system parameters and initial conditions. By employing concepts from algebraic graph theory, linear systems theory, Lyapunov stability, and matrix theory, we establish sufficient conditions for the selected parameters to achieve prescribed‐time consensus. Simulation experiments confirm the validity of proposed methodologies for a second‐order unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) formation consensus.
