The purpose of this research is to improve the security of health-insured privacy data in the insurance industry by using a hybrid blockchain model. A hybrid blockchain is a combination of a public blockchain and a private blockchain. Each node will carry out the registration process and transaction validation on the public blockchain. A private blockchain network stores customer privacy data, limiting access to a restricted blockchain network. The research method uses a qualitative approach through literature review. Software simulations with Hyperledger fabrics, using examples of various transactions, support the research. The results of the research show that the application of hybrid blockchains to the insurance industry can improve the protection of insured privacy data without reducing efficiency in the blockchain validation process. The study's practical implications are that using blockchain technology with Hyperledger fabrics can make the processes of paying insurance premiums and filing claims clearer and protect private data better. The theoretical implications of this research are that the hybrid blockchain model can be applied to the insurance industry, especially health insurance, to improve the security of customer privacy data. This study contributes to the literature by finding a combination of public blockchain and private blockchain for the insurance industry. Simulations with Hyperledger, applicable to the insurance industry, demonstrate the relevance and value of this research.
