The exponential growth of textual data inVision-and-Language Navigation tasksposes significant challenges for datamanagement in large-scale storagesystems. Data deduplication has emergedas a practical strategy for data reduction inlarge-scale storage systems; however, ithas also raised security concerns. Thispaper introduces DEDUCT, an innovativedata deduplication method for textualdata. DEDUCT employs a hybridapproach that combines cloud-side andclient-side deduplication mechanisms toachieve high compression rates whilemaintaining data security. DEDUCT’slightweight preprocessing and client-sidededuplication make it suitable forresource-constrained devices like IoTdevices. It has also been designed to resistside-channel attacks. Experimentalevaluations on the touchdown dataset, consisting of human written navigationinstructions for routers, demonstrate theeffectiveness of DEDUCT. It achievesco, pression rates of nearly 66%, andimproved efficiency in large scale datamanagement systems.
