Although solar photovoltaic (PV) cells provide a clean energy source, their limited efficiency continues to be a barrier to their widespread use. Metamaterial-based configurations (MTMs) offer a new way to boost light absorption and enhance PV performance. For the solar spectrum, we present an MTM absorber in this study with a full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) bandwidth of (300–1000) THz. The maximum absorption rate of 99.72% at 659.1 THz is reached by this absorber, which maintains absorption levels over 80% throughout the (418.26–941.1) THz interval. These results demonstrate the substantial potential of MTM absorbers to improve solar efficiency and encourage the more rapid adoption of renewable energy sources.
