This paper presents an innovative approach combining an existing photonics and quantum makerspace environment with strategies for STEM talent attraction. The Lichtwerkstatt Jena, a distinguished makerspace, serves as the core of this initiative, leveraging its state-of-the-art facilities to foster STEM education and outreach. The project integrates remote-controlled experiments, miniaturized quantum setups, hands-on workshops, and interdisciplinary creativity methods to enhance STEM participation, particularly among young women. By promoting role model interactions, advanced research projects, and international collaborations, the initiative addresses the gender gap in STEM and aims to build a sustainable network of future STEM professionals.
