Emerging trends in technology innovations and persistent quest for a digitally driven society has geometrically increased the spate of cybercrimes across different domains and sectors. As a result, classified advances in cybersecurity enable cyber experts to withstand, prevent and conquer the activities of cybercriminals. Cybersecurity entails the practice of devising robust measures to protect computer networks, digital devices, and sensitive data from unauthorized access or criminal attacks. It focuses on ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability which is the CIA triad of information in our increasingly connected world. Cybercriminals targets breaching cybersecurity to compromise CIA triads of connected devices across the cyberspace. Navigating the cyberspace and maintaining safety against cyber-attacks requires fundamental knowledge index and capacity prowess on cybersecurity precepts. This study undertook technical review that explored pertinent cybersecurity precepts/etiquettes and other critical tools for safe navigation across the cyberspace and strategies to optimize their use. It systematically harnessed and classified viable, potent and effective adaptable operational measures in dislodging varieties of intended cyber-attacks. Enabling an optimized culture of cyber-hygiene and leaving nothing to chance proves to be a vital key in staying cyber secure. Free-minded disposition to embracing change and trends in innovations is the right path in cloud navigation safety. Keywords: cybersecurity, cybercrime, phishing, hacking, cyber-hygiene, AI
