Methods for Auroral Oval Segmentation in Images (Part 2)

The paper provides an overview of studies conducted between 2014 and 2019 on auroral oval segmentation in images. Full sky maps and ultraviolet images were used as input data. The following methods were considered: improved level setting method for fast auroral oval segmentation (SIIALSM), regional active contour model with adaptive threshold, dual level set method based on local information with the introduction of the previous shape value into the level set structure.
