The Pertinency of Cyber Security Towards Critical Infrastructure

Protection of digital facilities operating nuclear power plants constitutes a vital infrastructure concern that demands immediate attention because of digital era. Implementation of connections of various systems & modern technologies by nuclear facilities lead to efficient operations but create risk for cyber related threats. ICS systems together with SCADA networks & safety mechanisms face high exposure to attacks which became apparent due to the damaging Stuxnet incident. The research examines cybersecurity problems that affect nuclear power plants before evaluating current protocols & suggesting potential remedial options. This investigation depends on a defence system based on AI & blockchain technology alongside ML capabilities for it to detect threats instantly & trigger decisions beforehand. Examination of regulatory aspects & policy needs to emphasize global cybersecurity standards requirements. The analysis integrates recommendations developed by three expert fields - cybersecurity experts, nuclear engineers, along with policymakers to safeguard nuclear infrastructure.
