In order to achieve an accurate and effective assessment of the performance of administrative departments and provide an important decision-making basis for the sustainable development of administrative departments, a fuzzy algorithm-based performance assessment model for administrative departments is proposed. This paper meticulously examines practical administrative operations to develop a comprehensive performance assessment index system for administrative departments. It selects assessment indicators across dimensions such as administrative performance outcomes, service object perspectives, internal management, and learning and development. By defining quantitative value intervals for these indicators and determining their inherent attributes, the paper normalizes the performance assessment indicators. Furthermore, by leveraging the iterative effect of the fuzzy mean operator within the fuzzy clustering algorithm, it enhances the spectral clustering algorithm to facilitate the quantitative ranking of these indicators. Additionally, by incorporating the grey fuzzy iterative algorithm, this paper establishes an iterative criterion within the traditional grey fuzzy evaluation algorithm, updates the membership matrix, and ultimately achieves the performance assessment of administrative departments. The experimental results show that the time consumed for the performance assessment produced by using the design model is 4.86[Formula: see text]s, indicating that the design model can efficiently and quickly assess the performance of the administrative department accurately, and effectively shorten the time used for performance assessment and related data processing on the basis of guaranteeing the accuracy of the performance assessment results, and the efficiency of the performance assessment and data processing is high.
