Summary As an essential component of modern transportation infrastructure, the structural safety and quality stability of tunnels have always been a focal point. Lining voids, a common quality issue in tunnels, pose a significant threat to the long-term operational safety of tunnels.Affected by dense reinforcement layers, the detection effectiveness of commonly used ground-penetrating radar for tunnel lining is limited. Combining cavity characteristics with tunnel engineering detection requirements, this paper proposes a self-positioning impact echo detection technology based on elastic waves. By integrating impact echo and wireless carrier communication technologies, it achieves the integration of nondestructive detection and positioning within the enclosed space of tunnels, effectively identifying the distribution range of lining cavities. Meanwhile, a lightweight detection equipment has been developed. Through practical tunnel engineering verification, this technology and equipment can effectively identify lining cavities, with lightweight equipment and high detection efficiency, providing strong support for tunnel structural safety.
