Method of Induction Conductometer Sensors Calibration

The article substantiates the importance of the problem of metrological control of conductivity sensors in modern high-tech industries that use them in their production processes. Such industries include enterprises in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and food industries. These sensors are also in demand for monitoring water treatment. These sensors are quite vulnerable to the effects of vibration from pumps, to frequent temperature changes, to the aggressive effects of an electrolytic solution, and to the effects of hydraulic shocks passing through pipelines. Calibration of sensors in special control solutions should be carried out at least once a month to clarify their characteristics. In practice, it is necessary to clarify the characteristics of the sensors more often. The methods of calibration of conductivity sensors use reference solutions. Reference control solutions must be prepared in advance and these solutions cannot be stored for a long time due to degradation. Therefore, the calibration prescribed by the description of the devices is often difficult. The article analyzes a method for modeling the calibration of electrical conductivity sensors of modern induction-type conductometers. The proposed method allows calibrating sensors in a "dry" way without using reference solutions. The dependence of the sensor settings on the electrical conductivity of the simulated solutions is determined.
