IoT devices have become the preferred choice for many people nowadays. As a result, new techniques for conducting cybercrimes through these devices are emerging. This research paper has discussed the challenges that investigators may face when dealing with these devices and provides a comprehensive literature review of proposed solutions published in the field. On the other hand, investigating chips involves multiple challenges that investigators need to recognize and address. The motivation for conducting this research arises from the scarcity of existing papers that critically compare studies in this field. The primary objectives of this paper are to identify published studies on the Internet of Things forensics and Chip-off forensics. Additionally, to develop a readiness framework for Chip-off forensics and data analysis. The proposed framework will then be applied in a real case, extending the scope of this paper.
