Kubernetes-Based Monitoring Methods

This paper discusses the need to use monitoring for various applications, internal processes running on the portable Kubernetes platform. The principle of operation of the considered platform is analyzed, and also, a set of tools for monitoring is defined with indication of advantages and ways of integration in the system. We identify and group metrics that can be captured to track the performance of various processes, including performance, availability and reliability. We elaborate on the need for an alert system to quickly respond to anomalies and failures to minimize downtime and improve overall system stability. Solutions such as Prometheus, Open Telemetry are offered as tools to visualize metrics, analyze performance and improve infrastructure reliability.
