The “Vocalizer for Deaf and Dumb” project represents an innovative step forward in communication technology for individuals with hearing and speech impairments. This system integrates advanced sensor technologies, including flex sensors and an accelerometer embedded in a custom-designed glove, to capture and interpret sign language gestures. These movements are processed in real time by an Arduino Uno microcontroller, which matches the gestures to a comprehensive database of predefined sign language symbols. Upon recognition, a Bluetooth module transmits the interpreted gestures to external devices, enabling communication via text or voice output, making the technology adaptable to user preferences. Additionally, the system incorporates internet connectivity features, allowing users to access online resources, search for additional information, and utilize language translation services, which makes it multilingual and further enhances its usability. This combination of real-time gesture recognition, dynamic output capabilities, and online access aims to break down longstanding communication barriers for the deaf and mute community. By offering both practical and inclusive communication solutions, the “Gesture Vocalizer” enhances user independence and quality of life, fostering a more connected and accessible environment for individuals with hearing and speech disabilities.
