The OECD Information Systems Security Guidelines: an outline
Richard Hackworth · ITNOW · 1993
Abstract Information system security is about the trust we place in our computer and communication systems. When an enterprise, in the private or public sector, invests in IT, it does so with the confident expectation that the system will deliver benefits reliably and accurately. A failure of security of that system - a failure of information confidentiality, integrity or availability - is a failure to deliver these benefits and a betrayal of that trust That is why system security is important.
