In this paper, an optimal tracking problem is investigated for uncertain nonlinear systems subjected to fixed-time prescribed performance (FTPP) constraints. First, an FTPP control technique is utilised to guarantee that the controlled system meets predetermined performance criteria within the preset time, encompassing both transient and steady-state performance. Subsequently, to reduce the complexity of controller design, this paper constructs an improved cost function by using the tracking errors and their derivatives transformed by FTPP control. In order to reduce the waste of communication resources, a dynamic event-triggered mechanism (DETM) is applied to update the controller. Under a critic-only adaptive dynamic programming framework, an optimal controller is updated with the DETM, and eliminates the influence caused by external disturbances. All signals in the closed-loop system are proved to be uniformly ultimate bounded by the Lyapunov method. Finally, a numerical simulation is conducted to validate the efficacy of the proposed algorithm.
