Test scenario generation and optimization from UML behavioural diagrams

Optimization of test scenarios is one of the techniques that effectively manage the exponential extension in the testing period and test expenses. But the researchers often negotiate the coverage of the code while optimizing it. In this paper, we introduce a proposal to produce an optimized test scenario using a cuckoo search algorithm. The test suite is also reduced because of optimization while retaining the code coverage percentage unchanged. First, we implement this approach using a single UML model then we extend our work using a combined UML diagram for the same proposal, in short, we have to draw a system modelled using a sequence diagram (SD). After that, it transformed into a sequence diagram graph (SDG). Using the DFS algorithm and the cuckoo search we have generated test scenarios and also optimized the process. Test scenarios are generated by traversing the graph. Test scenario optimization is leading to a more reliable test suite in software testing concerning time, expense, and path coverage. it also helps during software under maintenance or fixing a bug that time we have to retest all the system to verify it will work fine and not affect other system functionality.
