Personal data is currently one of the most crucial things that should not be spread haphazardly to avoid cybercrime. Latest report from The International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) in 2024 stated that Southeast Asia was the target of cybercriminals who tried to infect networks and devices through phishing tricks, in form of online scam as well as business mail scam. Indonesia was the highest target during the first half of 2019 with 31.07% of phishing attempts. This study examines and analyzes the effect of information security awareness on personal data protection, cybercrime, and communication privacy management. The research method used is descriptive analysis and data analysis using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using Partial Least Squares (PLS). The results of this study indicate that information security awareness affects cybercrime. The millennial generation is aware that personal data are essential to protect, but they have not fully protected their data, thus cybercrime continues to increase. Meanwhile, information security awareness of personal data protection and communication privacy management do not affect each other.
