Rui Ma, Feng Zhang, Binbin Hu · 2025

Aiming at the problems of information silos and insufficient dynamic simulation capabilities in traditional dam safety monitoring, a dam safety monitoring and management method based on the Internet of Things and twin simulation technology is proposed. By constructing an “air - space - ground hydraulic - engineering” integrated IoT information perception system, real - time collection of all - element data of the dam is achieved. Based on the digital twin technology, a dam twin model is constructed, and technical difficulties such as massive terrain scheduling, dam - terrain mosaic, and the expression of safety information in 3D space are studied. A dam safety management platform is designed. Using the digital twin framework of geographic information to construct a real - coordinate space reference, combined with multi - source data fusion and real - time simulation, rapid, efficient, and intuitive twin simulation of dam safety information is realized. This provides managers with a means to quickly obtain the safety status of the dam, improves the level of dam safety management, and provides support for the intelligent management of river basins.
