Optimizing Cloud Efficiency Through Data De-Duplication Technique
M Tharunkumar, R. Nathiya · 2025
Cloud storage has been one of the hallmarks of modern computing, without exception for a scalable and cost-effective one. However, the biggest challenge for this kind of storage turns out to be the efficient management of huge amounts of redundant data when it needs to be secured. In order to optimize the cloud at the same time, this paper proposes a chunk-based data deduplication technique to improve the security of the data. This involves an analysis approach that mainly utilizes TF -IDF for identifying duplicate chunks so that elimination of redundancy minimizes both the storage space and bandwidth consumed for data transmission. Data integrity is maintained through base64 encoding, and AES is used to safeguard the sharing of data by re-encrypting it under different keys. The merging of these techniques brings efficiency to the cloud while reducing computational overhead while protecting data from unauthorized access. The experiments show around a 35-50% reduction of space saving with high retrieval performance and access control based on strong encryption. This means that a method is very efficient, safe, and scalable to manage data in the cloud.
