OMACS Based Adaptive Intelligent Tutoring System Development

Nowadays learning through online among learners was increased. Most of the online resources are static, we can’t say everyone gain knowledge, to overcome this Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) plays a vital role by providing adaptive path for each learner. The inherent properties of agents such as autonomy, pro activeness, adaptability reduce the complexity of intelligent tutoring system development. However, those agent-based ITS are developed in adhoc fashion, so in order to develop a ITS for a long run in this work an Agent Oriented Software Engineering (AOSE) methodology OMACS was applied for developing adaptive ITS. The proposed system addresses challenges such as content selection and usability while ensuring reusability and systematic design. The ITS integrates agents such as profile analysis, tutor, clustering, evaluation, and path planning agents to create a comprehensive learning environment. Implemented on the JADE platform, the system’s usability and adaptiveness were evaluated through qualitative and quantitative studies involving students and experts. Results indicate that the proposed ITS effectively enhances learning outcomes, achieving over 65% user satisfaction and more than 70% expert approval for its systematic design approach. Comparative analysis demonstrates that the proposed system offers superior reusability and extensibility compared to existing ITS solutions.
