Biometric Breakthroughs : Improving Service And Security With Fingerprint Recognition

M K Mughunthan, Nadarajan R, P. Umamaheswari · 2025

Biometric verification is now a vital element of contemporary security systems, offering a sure and efficient way of authenticating identities. Of all the biometric technologies, fingerprint recognition is notable for its distinctiveness, stability, and convenience. This project, "Biometric Breakthroughs: Enhancing Service and Security through Fingerprint Recognition," examines the new developments in fingerprint recognition technology and illustrates how it can further security and service effectiveness. Our work is about merging deep learning methods with conventional fingerprint authentication procedures to enhance accuracy, minimize false positives, and maximize system hardness. Using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and sophisticated feature extraction methods, our model strives to provide high-accuracy fingerprint identification while overcoming the issue of noise, distortion, and attempts at spoofing. This paper offers an in-depth examination of the methods used, experimental findings, and possible real-world applications—especially in banking, law enforcement, and personal device security. The results highlight the need for ongoing innovation in biometric authentication to support both digital and physical security systems.
