Message from the Chair of the Special Session: Workshop on Mixed Analog-Digital Configurable Adaptable Processing (MADCAP) FCCM 2025

2025

Mixed analog-digital Processing-in-Memory (PIM), also referred to as Computing-in-Memory (CIM), presents a promising pathway toward achieving compute efficiencies on the order of 1000 TOPS/Watt for small-scale matrix multiplication (GEMM) kernels. Despite this potential, a significant impediment to widespread deployment lies in the efficiency degradation incurred when interfacing PIM technologies with conventional general-purpose processors and heterogeneous computing architectures.
