Improving data security and privacy in sports health monitoring through blockchain

Xiaochun Yuan · Systems and Soft Computing · 2025

With the increasing attention to health and fitness in modern society, the demand for reliable sports health monitoring systems is also growing. However, traditional systems often face key issues related to data security, privacy protection, and efficient data sharing. To address these challenges, this study proposes a sports health monitoring and management system based on blockchain technology. This system combines the decentralized, tamper proof, and transparent functions of blockchain with smart contracts for automated data processing, improving security and operational efficiency. A comprehensive system framework has been designed, including real-time data collection, secure storage, intelligent analysis, and controlled sharing. The experimental verification using health data from 200 users shows that the proposed system is significantly superior to traditional systems in terms of data transmission accuracy (99.5%), processing speed, and privacy protection. These results indicate that blockchain technology can not only improve the robustness and scalability of health monitoring systems, but also enhance users' trust in data security and privacy. This study emphasizes a novel practical application of blockchain in the field of sports and health, providing an efficient and secure solution for large-scale health data management.
