Blockchain-based multi-objective optimal allocation of shared manufacturing resources

Caiyun Liu, Peng Liu · International Journal of General Systems · 2025

Shared manufacturing is a sharing model of manufacturing resources based on Peer-to-Peer, and as the number of participants and transactions rises, so does the reliability of this approach. Consensus mechanisms and smart contracts in Blockchain make the data traceable. In this context, this study integrates blockchain into shared manufacturing and proposes a blockchain-based shared manufacturing (BSM) architecture to support resource sharing between Manufacturing Service Demander and Manufacturing Service Provider. Moreover, a BSM hierarchical framework is built for shared manufacturing services. Among them, data security is made possible through double-chain storage, which also eases the load on the storage system. Further, the flow of matters on the User Chain and Transaction Chain is introduced. Based on this, a multi-objective shared manufacturing resource allocation and service model is constructed. Finally, a series of numerical examples highlight the superiority of BSM resource allocation, and the reliability of the system is guaranteed.
