Both blockchain and Internet of Things (IoT) are considered buzzwords in the digital world. For decentralized transactions, the blockchain serves as a database. It focuses on storing and managing the data, whereas IoT enables the provision of information through the internet among the interconnected machines or devices. Industrial IoT (IIoT) is a technology that offers a significant contribution in the manufacturing sector by enabling the advances and data of the device or equipment. IIoT is attained by integrating the blockchain and IoT, incorporating data from the real world and its efficient storage and management of that data. This technology is also known as BIIoT since it is a combination of blockchain and IIoT. Challenges such as vulnerabilities in security and privacy, decentralization, single points of failure, and other trust issues are present in IoT. This chapter aims to address how blockchain is overcoming these IoT challenges. The chapter also discusses a brief study of blockchain-enabled IoT and IIoT and their application in various areas, along with their pros and cons. Research insights are also reviewed in this chapter.
