Abstract There have been a number of exhibitions on Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) and many articles written that claim that ISDN’s day has arrived. Is this the last flicker of the candle, before ISDN is overtaken by new services based on Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) or has the service now reached the critical mass so necessary in the computer communications business?
