The transmission of medical images over the Internet of Things plays the main role. Thus, medical image watermarking (MIW) is used to provide higher security to medical images. However, conventional approaches have failed to meet the requirements for imperceptibility, robustness, and embedding capability. To address this issue, a hybrid MIW algorithm is presented in this article, which combines redundant discrete wavelet transform (RDWT) with discrete cosine transform (DCT) and singular value decomposition (SVD) to gain the benefits of all three methods. Here, RDWT is used to generate the low-frequency components, DCT is used for the decomposition of image bands, and SVD is used for singular pixel analysis for perfect embedding and extraction. As a result, the derived watermark image has excellent visual perception while maintaining its robustness against different image attacks. The simulation results show that the proposed method resulted in higher security standards such as imperceptibility and robustness against attacks. Finally, the proposed MIW with RDWT-SVD-DCT resulted in superior performance compared to different current MIW techniques in terms of quality metrics such as PSNR, SSIM index, RMSE, and NCC.
