Perspective Code

Anna Ursyn · 2025

In chapter 14 , Perspective Code: an Architectural Tour of a Town , a group of four tourists try to learn from the city guide Filippo, while they take an architectural tour of Colorado’s Leadville. Leadville, once the fastest-growing town in Colorado during the gold rush period, is known for many types and styles of architectural structures built because of this city’s rapid growth. There are many sites, artifacts, stories, and historical values behind the idea of dwelling. These concepts are changing along with technological improvements, research, and inventions. Our solutions combine functionality with usability, ergonometric design, beauty, and new arrangements. We study past ideas and create new ones to fit our needs and follow current rules and standards, both technological and artistic. We look at sustainable options and solutions. This work is set outdoors. The program for the tourists is focused on creating perspective drawings of the town, but they are more interested in coding it. The tourists dynamically interact among themselves rather than with their tour guide. Photographic and video-based elements are juxtaposed with sketches related to one-, two-, and three-point perspective, along with some historical concepts of how three-dimensional spaces have been adapted for a flat piece of paper.
