sensing-assisted communication systems, better positioning precision leads to more accurate communication beam alignment. In this letter, we propose two novel beam prediction schemes, i.e. active control scheme and interaction control scheme, to enhance communication quality of service (QoS) for dual base station (BS) setups in vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) cross-cell scenarios. In the active control scheme, one BS actively informs the other BS to transmit signals, and then uses the extended Kalman filter (EKF) to predict and track the vehicle’s motion states and relative angles with respect to the BSs. In the interaction control scheme, dual BSs exchange prediction information to correct prediction and tracking effect. Besides, we consider the multi-step transmission delay between dual BSs. Simulation results show that the proposed schemes can accurately track the vehicle and effectively improve communication QoS, and have obviously better performance than the single BS beam prediction schemes.
