Advanced Robotics for Service Development and Management

Kemal Enes · Advances in computational intelligence and robotics book series · 2025

This chapter explored the progress and utilization of service robotics across diverse industries. These robots, which integrate AI, sensors, and actuators, are employed for tasks ranging from household chores to intricate medical procedures. The advancement of service robotics is propelled by key technologies, such as object recognition, vision-based navigation, adaptable software platforms, biomimetic materials, self-reconfiguring modular robots, and intelligent cognitive systems. HRI is a vital aspect of service robotics that aims to improve communication and collaboration between humans and machines. Service robots raise ethical issues, such as sustainability, safety, and employment impact. Cybersecurity and safety are important considerations in the development and implementation of service robots. Service robot management involves establishment, operational effectiveness, and recognition of the advantages of using them. Robotic technology is expected to become increasingly prevalent in the service sector in the future.
